There was a time not so long ago-okay like 1 day ago- when i sought to be the perfect woman, full of wisdom; sinless-if such a word even exists-; people pleaser, little miss goody two shoes. Truth is, at some point, i got the hang of it, i pulled it off, i became the ‘it’ woman, but unfortunately,we are all likely to keel over and yield to pressure in the face of the greatest adversities. Which is exactly what happened to yours truly. I cracked.
The situation that i had been going through can best be summarized by the words of the great Dr, James Dobson ‘pain stalks the soul as life and death hang in the balance.’
Okay, back to my ‘cracking episode’. so i was tired of everything, tired of being too good, tired of being evil,( God knows im no stranger to both extremes). so what did i do? The only thing you can do at such a time, hang yourself of read the bible. I choose the latter.
My advise to anyone who might be going through a hard time, -Christian or not- is to read the book of Ecclesiastes, i know, i know, it’s a tad bit depressing, but the ending…’pure genius intertwined with simplicity to birth true insight.’ So this is the verse (relax, im not going to bible bash anyone) that i stumbled upon that somewhat uplifted my spirits to the point of nudging me to start this blog:
‘Don’t be too good or too wise- why kill yourself? But don’t be too wicked or too foolish either- why die before you have to?. Avoid both extremes. If you have reverence for the Lord, you will be successful anyway.’ . Ecclesiastes 7:16-18 and 20.
‘There is no one on earth who does what is right all the time and never makes a mistake.’
After all has been said and done, what point am i trying to make? stop trying to walk on glass and egg shells with bare feet hoping you will walk away without a scratch. simply put: stop trying to make sense of every action you take, and thinking…’ oh no, i should have done that’ or oh no, i shouldn’t have done that.’ the truth is, no one is perfect. You are bound to -and actually according to the above wise words of the great king Solomon- you will make mistakes, conclusion: RELAX, NO ONE IS PERFECT.
